Title: CIRCUIT TRACK FIELD by Amanda Gayle / @amgayle
is a typeface specimen of a custom font which borrows from the distinctive visual language of a circuit board, but also highlights the making of letters themselves: circuit (noun): movement that starts and finishes at the same place.
From shot put instructions to the perpetual Thesta Distatica machine, the typeface takes inspiration from the electronic to the athletic.
Contributions to the zine include a genre bending mix and a translation of a TikTok dance to notation form, which best encompass the spirit of this specimen. They present alternative ways of experiencing and reading movement, merging sounds and steps respectively into woven pixels of information.
It comes with a mini zine- an excerpt of Jonathan Burrows’ 'A Choreographer’s Handbook'. Drawn from Burrow’s notebooks of over five years of workshop discussions, it provides a range of exercises and meditations on scores to allow you to find your own aesthetic process.
